The Industrial Secondments Scheme in the Royal Academy of Engineering provides an invaluable opportunity for teaching staff in Higher Education Institutions to work on a collaborative project with industry.

The secondment allows the awardee to gain up to date knowledge and first-hand experience of current industry working practices, enabling them to improve the quality and industrial relevance of their teaching. 

Dr. Darren Watts has won an industrial secondment award from The Royal Academy of Engineering to enable him to join the new CAE division at Majenta PLM Ltd. for a period of 6 months.

The project focuses on the industrial application and implementation of CAE simulation and will help ensure the content of CAE teaching at Loughborough University is industrially relevant whilst also fostering stronger links with industry.
