New Chief Operating Officer appointed at Loughborough University

Richard Taylor has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer at Loughborough University.

Richard is currently Deputy Registrar at the University of Leicester and a member of the University's senior management team. He holds a varied brief which includes overall responsibility for the University’s planning activity, residences and catering, sport, the University’s conference centre, admissions, marketing, communications and fundraising activity.

Richard is also a trustee of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

He joined the University of Leicester in 2003 after holding posts at Durham and Loughborough universities.

Richard grew up in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and attended Barnsley College before studying at Durham University, where he was Students’ Union President in 1994-5.

He lives local to Loughborough and is married with two young children.

Of his appointment, Richard said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Loughborough University. It is an organisation that has enjoyed significant success in recent years and has huge potential to build on that record. I very much look forward to meeting new colleagues and students.”
