Procedure for the Appointment of Chair of Council

(Version effective from 24 March 1999)

1. When a vacancy occurs in the office of Chair of Council, Council shall appoint a Working Group to consider the appointment which shall have the following membership:

  • Vice-Chancellor
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellor
  • Pro-Chancellors other than the Senior Pro-Chancellor
  • Three other members of Council, one of whom shall be an elected member.

2. The Working Group shall undertake appropriate consultation and make a recommendation to Council.
