Chris is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University. Previously, he held an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Oxford University under Sir. John Vickers, and he completed his PhD at the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy at the University of East Anglia.

Chris’s research spans industrial organisation and behavioural economics, with particular interests in consumer information, consumer switching, advertising, and pricing. He has published in journals such as the European Economic Review, International Journal of Industrial Organization, and Oxford Economic Papers. Chris has presented at numerous international conferences and several governmental departments.

Chris is also an enthusiastic teacher, having won several School-level teaching awards and been nominated for some wider University awards. He is a co-founder of the SBE Teaching Forum to help lecturers share their teaching skills.

Finally, Chris is an Economics Undergraduate Programme Director and has played a large role in several recent changes to introduce more transferable skills and flexibility within the School’s economics degrees.

2. Consumers’ switching decisions and purchasing behaviour

3. Businesses’ pricing and advertising decisions

4. Consumer protection policy and competition policy
