Amanda has spent the majority of her working career in the pharmaceutical industry spending 9 years working for AstraZeneca as a senior research scientist and project discipline lead.
In addition to her research role she was responsible for the supervision of numerous placement students and organisation of cross departmental functions. In particular she led a multidisciplinary team looking at efficiency of processes using Lean methods.
Amanda joined the School of Business and Economics in October 2011 and uses the knowledge from her career in industry to teach undergraduate courses on Skills for Study, Placement & Employment and Small Business Planning.
As part of the Glendonbrook Centre for Enterprise Education she also teaches Managing Innovation on the MBA programme, Research Methods and Risk Assessment for Executive Education and Enterprise and Employability Skills for postgraduate research students. In addition she organises and facilitates workshops for staff throughout the University on project planning, creativity and embedding enterprise education into the curriculum.
