Amanda joined the Business School in October 2011. Prior to this she had spent the majority of her working career in the pharmaceutical industry including nine years working for AstraZeneca as a senior research scientist and project discipline lead. In addition to her research role she was responsible for the supervision of numerous placement students and organisation of cross departmental functions. In particular she led a multidisciplinary team looking at efficiency of processes using lean methods.

She now uses her industry knowledge and contacts to teach modules on 'Skills for Study, Placement & Employment', 'Managing Innovation' and 'Small Business Planning'.

Amanda is the Academic Lead for Student and Graduate Enterprise for Loughborough University, her remit being to improve the inclusion of enterprise within the curriculum across campus. In particular she coordinates the 'Year in Enterprise' programme where undergraduate students can spend their placement year running their own start-up business.
