Dr Alex Wilson BA, Leeds; MA, PhD, Warwick

Alex joined Loughborough University in September 2012. Previously he has worked as a Research Fellow in strategic management at Warwick Business School examining the evolution and development of management education, teaching and research and the role of business schools globally. His doctoral research at Warwick Business School examined the strategic adoption of technology and organisational change.

He has held visiting positions as Lim Kim San Research Fellow (2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014) and Visiting Professor (2017) at Singapore Management University.

He is currently Charter Association of Business Schools Research Fellow (2017).

He is Open and Visit Day Coordinator for the School of Business and Economics. He received a Dean's Award for Early Career Teacher of the Year, 2015.

Research Interests

Alex has written on the politics of strategic decision making (the role of executive boards within extreme events), the competitive nature of management research and the legitimacy of business schools.

His current research examines the growing adoption of open strategy and the use of social media and collaborative technologies. He also is engaged in research exploring the evolution and development of management education and research.

He has held visiting fellowships at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014)
