Learning to Create a Better Built Environment: Global Multi-disciplinary Learning in Construction Education - Hewlett Packard Catalyst Initiative project (January 2011 - December 2012, Principal Investigator, US$160k) Community Resilience to Extreme Weather (CREW) research programme (EPSRC, 2008-2012, Consortium funding £1.6m, £105k allocated to my WP) Simulating the performance of concrete structures using virtual prototyping techniques with particular emphasis on standardisation and pre-assembly of components through the use of hybrid concrete (‘HyCon’, the application of Virtual Reality technology, EPSRC/IMCRC, 2002-2004) Respect for people strategies for improved construction project performance: a project to develop effective teamwork, leadership and empowerment strategies through learning across process and construction sectors (EPSRC/IMCRC, 2004-2005) Sustained competitiveness in the UK construction sector: a fresh perspective ‘The Big Ideas’ (EPSRC, 2005-2007) Benchmarking of building surveyors’ practice on the assessment of flood-damaged domestic properties (Lloyds TSB Insurance).
