About this event

Abstract: A radial turbomachinery can be exposed to pulsating flow condition due to the coupled components downstream/upstream such as a reciprocated internal combustion engine, the instability of combustion in a combustion chamber and even the detonation engine. How the turbomachinery responses to the pulsating condition, and how to understand, evaluate, and utilize the unsteadiness by numerical/experimental methods are quite challenging. This talk is to discuss recent research activities on these topics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and try to answer some of these questions.

Presenter: Dr. Mingyang Yang, Associate professor in MechEng School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.  He got his PhD degree in 2011 from Tsinghua University, China. He had worked as Research Associate at Imperial College London from 2012 to 2015. He has worked at Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2015. Dr Mingyang Yang has been focusing on the research area of fluid dynamics of radial turbomachinery, especially for turbocharging and waste heat recovery.
