Giving to Loughborough
Help us to award more scholarships and bursaries, enabling disadvantaged, high-achieving young people to realise their potential.
With the news that Loughborough is the most popular first choice university for freshers in 2016, we are more determined than ever that talented individuals should not be prevented from pursuing a university education due to their financial situation or background.
For many, the transition from school to university is an exciting time, full of new opportunities and opening doors.
However, with increased course fees, not to mention accommodation costs and textbooks, the financial implications can be incredibly daunting.
Our scholarship programmes gives talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to further their education, by supporting them through their time at University. Many of the recipients of these awards have experienced difficult times, including coming from low-income families or facing bereavement.
Our scholars receive £3,000 for each year of their degree to help purchase academic equipment and books, to cover the cost of travel and accommodation, and help them take part in extracurricular activities.

For every one Development Trust Scholarship awarded, there are a further eight applicants who we are unable to support. Your contribution will ensure that talented young people from less advantaged backgrounds are able to continue their education.
