The mid-courter has been rewarded for an outstanding season in purple after being named among the athletes set to represent England on one of the biggest stages in international netball. Shaw’s selection marks another major milestone in her career and reflects her continued impact at both domestic and international level.
Since returning to Lightning ahead of the 2026 Netball Super League season, Shaw has brought leadership, energy and composure through the midcourt, playing a key role in the club’s success throughout the campaign.
Everyone at Loughborough Lightning would also like to congratulate Alice Harvey and Ella Clark on being selected as travelling reserves for Team England ahead of the Games.
Both players have continued to impress throughout the season with consistently high-level performances in Lightning colours and their inclusion is recognition of the strength and quality within the squad.
The trio’s selections further underline Lightning’s reputation for developing and supporting world-class talent, with the club continuing to have strong representation on the international stage.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August, with England aiming to challenge for medals once again following their historic gold medal success in 2018.
Everyone at Loughborough Lightning wishes Jess, Alice and Ella the very best for the summer ahead.
