Lightning unveil 2026 kit designed for performance and choice

Loughborough Lightning has today revealed its new kit for the 2026 campaign.

Developed in close partnership with Kukri Sports, the new kit retains Lightning’s strong visual identity while evolving to meet the demands of the modern game.

For the first time, players will have the option to compete in either the traditional dress or a newly designed vest and skort combination.

Both silhouettes have been engineered for elite performance, with the vest and skort mirroring the design lines of the dress to ensure a unified look on court, with greater flexibility for individual comfort.

The 2026 away kit also sees a shift to black, introducing a strong new colourway to the club’s on-court identity.

Loughborough University’s Deputy Director of Sport, Olivia Murphy, said:

"Lightning’s 2026 kit is a step forward for the franchise. Developed with Kukri, it reflects our progressive approach by giving players the choice of the dress or the vest and skort.

We’re excited to offer this flexibility, supporting our players to feel comfortable, confident, and fully themselves on court.”

Claire Nelson, Netball Super League Managing Director, said:

"Lightning’s 2026 kit is a strong example of how our clubs continue to move the game forward. Introducing both the dress and the vest and skort reflects a modern, inclusive approach that recognises and supports the needs of their athletes, while maintaining the high-performance standards that define our League.”

When asked about this year's choice option, Lightning shooter, Berri Neil said:

“Comfort is so important…You don't want to have to focus on what you're wearing, and you just want to be 100% in the game. So, I think giving people more options will only make performance better on court.”

Alice Harvey added:

“I feel really proud to play for a club like Lightning that's moving the game forward.

I think it's great to show the younger generations and the grassroots teams that there are options and you don't just have to wear a dress, and it's not a one-size-fits-all… I think this representation and the variety is really important.”

The 2026 kit reflects the club’s continued commitment to supporting its athletes with high-performance apparel that balances identity, innovation and comfort.

This milestone marks the beginning of an ongoing journey, and we are proud to continue our collaborative development with Kukri as we shape future iterations.

Fans can see the new kit in action throughout the upcoming season, with official merchandise available online and at home fixtures this season.
