Competing in a high-intensity one-day competition featuring all eight Netball Super League sides, Lightning delivered a composed performance across the tournament to emerge as champions.
After progressing confidently through the group stages, Lightning booked their place in the final with a 13–9 semi-final win over NIC Leeds Rhinos. Awaiting them in the showpiece match were Pulse, setting up a compelling clash between two of the league’s big hitters.
The final proved to be a fiercely contested encounter, with momentum shifting throughout. Lightning remained composed under pressure in the closing stages, executing when it mattered most to edge ahead by a single goal and seal the Super Cup crown.
Head Coach Vic Burgess told BBC Sport:
"It's been a really good day from us. We came into this knowing it's a little bit different. It can be tough and it can be quick, and Pulse nearly caught us.
"I'm really proud of the girls. They were up for it. They were chilled but with a focus on doing well for each other. The girls love winning and I love winning."
The result lays down an early marker ahead of the 2026 Netball Super League campaign, underlining the squad’s depth, resilience and competitive edge as Lightning build momentum into the season ahead.
