After an excellent performance, Hannah Joseph was named Player of the Match, contributing 36 feeds, a pick-up, and two key deflections. Her composure and vision were crucial in driving Lightning’s attack and ensuring smooth ball movement into the shooting circle.
Defensively, Lightning applied sustained pressure to disrupt Rhinos' attacking flow. Nat Panagarry led with determined defensive work, regaining possession at key moments. Beth Cobden’s anticipation resulted in a vital deflection, while Alice Harvey’s interceptions limited Rhinos’ scoring opportunities.
Despite periods of defensive pressure, Lightning remained composed in attack, moving the ball quickly and positioning effectively to break down opposition defences. Their transitions between attack and defence highlighted the team’s cohesion and tactical discipline, preventing Rhinos from building momentum.
This performance strengthens Lightning’s solid start to the season. Next up, they face Nottingham Forest away at the Motorpoint Arena on 5th April before returning home to take on the Dragons on 12th April.
