Loughborough Lightning Netball are delighted to announce that former player Jo Noel (née Trip) is returning to the franchise as Assistant Coach for the upcoming season, working alongside Head Coach Vic Burgess.

A familiar face to the Lightning family, Jo represented the side across two seasons from 2016, playing a key role in Lightning’s rise as one of the Netball Super League’s top contenders. Since retiring from elite netball, she has gone on to build an impressive coaching résumé, bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, and technical insight back to the programme.

Jo’s return marks an exciting addition to Lightning’s coaching setup as the team continues to build on recent success both on and off the court.

Speaking about her return, Noel said: “When Vic reached out, I didn’t hesitate. Being back in Loughborough feels like a real full-circle moment, and it’s fantastic to return. I’m really looking forward to working alongside Vic and doing what we can with this great group of players to continue the history-making that Loughborough is so well known for.”

Head Coach Vic Burgess added, “I’m thrilled to welcome Jo back to Lightning. She brings fantastic energy, experience, and a deep understanding of what it means to be part of this environment. Her insight as both a former player and a coach will be invaluable as we prepare for the season ahead.”

Loughborough Lightning fans can look forward to seeing Jo back on courtside this season as preparations get underway for another thrilling campaign in the Netball Super League.
