Lightning’s fixtures for the 2026/27 FA Women’s National League (FAWNL) Northern Premier Division season have been confirmed, with the campaign set to get underway at Loughborough University Stadium on Sunday 16 August.

The season opener will see Lightning welcome Hull City Ladies to campus, before travelling to newly promoted Huddersfield Town the following weekend. The two sides are familiar opponents, having met in last season’s FAWNL League Plate.

Lightning will face all four of the division’s newly promoted sides within their opening six league fixtures, creating a number of new encounters while also renewing rivalries from previous seasons in the FAWNL Midlands Division.

The opening month will also see Lightning begin their FAWNL League Cup campaign, with the group stage draw placing the team in Group R alongside Chesterfield, Sheffield FC and Sheffield United PGA.

As the season progresses, Lightning will return to familiar opposition across the division, with key fixtures including home meetings with Derby County, Norwich City and Liverpool Feds, before finishing the campaign with two of their final three matches at Loughborough University Stadium.

The 2026/27 season will conclude on Sunday 2 May, with Lightning hosting Middlesbrough in their final fixture of the campaign.
