The technology’s commercial potential has been boosted by the award of £167,000 Follow on Funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
The funding will be used to extend the current Broad Band Sound Attenuating Device technology to full-scale simulations involving larger attenuators and realistic simulations of noise pollution.
The project is well underway in achieving its milestones to:
- Optimise the technology for the two key markets where legislation requires improved protection from sound pollution in the near future; Environmental noise from rail/roads ; Protection from noisy machinery
- Build and test a full-scale demountable prototype for demonstration to potential industrial partners
