3. Research Grants and Contracts
- Income for research was marginally higher last year, but only because contributions in kind are now included, with estimates of value.
- New grants and contracts this year are uneven across faculties.
- The University achieves good overhead recovery rates, compared to the sector as a whole, and research income is vital for financial strength.
- Every active researcher should be preparing for Framework Programme 5 opportunities.
