Charlie joined Loughborough University in April 2019 as a Laboratory Assistant within Geography and Environment. Her role is to provide laboratory and field-based support to students and staff, as well as general upkeep of the laboratory facilities.

Charlie has previously worked within animal science and as a laboratory/animal care technician, based at Brooksby Melton College. She gained her experience within the teaching laboratories setting up for practical’s and taking groups of students for hands on animal care experience. She assisted with the daily welfare needs of the vast range of farm, domestic and exotic animals.

  • Provide technical and non-technical support for laboratory and field-based teaching and research.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and storage of laboratory and research equipment.
  • Ensure laboratories are kept clean, tidy and organised.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and University, School and Departmental procedures and protocols.
