This award ceremony celebrated the success of Department committee members, student co-ordinators, peer mentors, student consultants and many more. During the award ceremony on 15th May, Loughborough University Geography students managed to pick up 3 awards that recognised success and commitment above and beyond that of their peers.

Geography BSc student and Student committee Vice Chair Joanna Dobell was awarded the committee member of the year. This award was given for Joanna’s dedication towards her department and for her constant support and encouragement of her fellow committee members and also fellow students.

Geography and Sports Science student Eddie Letcher won an award for student co-ordinator of the year. This award paid tribute to the high quality peer assisted learning sessions Eddie ran throughout the year and also to the new learning sessions Eddie organised and implemented to provide support in an area he felt was required.

Geography BSc student Emma Bates also received an award. Emma’s award was given to recognise the support and help she gave in her role as a student consultant. This involved advising and supporting students with academic misconduct cases, appeals, complaints and mitigating circumstances claims. This required Emma to remain professional and supportive throughout the year and she made sure she was always enthusiastic and encouraging whilst keeping the students needs and interests at the forefront of her work.

Congratulations to all!
