Botanical Research Fund – Dr Joni Cook

Dr Joni Cook has secured £960 from the Botanical Research Fund to undertake research which aims to further understanding of why some plant species are invasive outside of their native range.

In this study, within-population variation in leaf morphometric traits will be investigated for populations of the carnivorous pitcher plant Sarracenia purpurea present in the species' introduced range in Europe.

This project is in collaboration with Physical Geography Lecturer Dr Jon Millett and Sydne Record (Bryn Mawr College, USA).
