Jingrui Hu

Jingrui joined Loughborough University in 2017 and was awarded an MA with distinction in Digital Media and Society in 2018. Jingrui started her PhD in January 2020.

Previously, Jingrui worked as an editor for People's Daily Online. She is also a trader of vintage costume jewellery in China.

Jingrui's research focuses on analysing why Chinese consumers purchase jewellery from bygone fashions of the West, how Chinese consumers perceive vintage costume jewellery, and how the producers construct the value of vintage costume jewellery.

Her project is under the supervision of Professor Eleonora Belfiore and Dr Thomas Thurnell-Read. Jingrui is funded jointly by Loughborough University and the Chinese Scholarship Council for her PhD.
