Dayei Oh is a PhD student at Online Civic Culture Centre for Doctoral Training at Loughborough University. She has a First Class BA Psychology degree from Ewha Womans University (South Korea), and an MA with Distinction in International Media and Communications from the University of Nottingham.
Before joining Loughborough University, Dayei has previously worked at the Associated Press (AP).
Dayei's research interests focus on the intersection of social media, democracy and the public. Her PhD thesis examines incivility and intolerance in political tweets about abortion in Ireland (2018) and the United States (2020).
She conducts mixed-method research to examine the presence and texture of incivility and intolerance online and develop a computational classification of incivility and intolerance.
