When you arrive

So you've booked your place and have arrived on campus. Find out how to kick-start your Loughborough Open Day experience...

Arriving in Loughborough

If you are travelling by train, when you arrive at Loughborough station there will be free shuttle buses running regularly to campus - hop on one of those and it will bring you straight to where you need to be. There will be student ambassadors in purple T-Shirts at the train station ready to greet you, so look out for them on the day!

If you arrive on campus by car, security staff will direct you to parking. Make sure you take note of where you are leaving your car - our campus measures 440 acres and it's easy to get disoriented after a day of exploring it! If you park your car in the Town Centre, you'll be able to catch the free shuttle bus to campus. For more information on travelling to campus, visit this page.

Registering your arrival

When you have parked up or made your way onto campus, you'll need to register your arrival at one of our Welcome Desks in order to pick up a Loughborough tote bag, a map and information on the day. Don't forget to bring along the email confirmation containing the QR code, so that we can register you quickly and efficiently - we recommend screenshotting this on your phone or saving the email somewhere you can easily locate it. Registration desks can be found dotted at the following locations across campus:

  • STEMLab
  • West Park Teaching Hub
  • Pilkington Library
  • Edward Herbert Building
  • James France
  • Loughborough Students' Union (LSU)
  • Edward Barnsley Building
  • Any purple gazebo

Getting around campus

We think the best way to get around our campus is on foot – there’s so much to take in and it enables you to really get a feel for our beautiful green surroundings. You can also hop on and off the campus shuttlebuses as often as you like – they are free to use throughout the day. All buses have a drop-floor and are accessible for wheelchair users and prams.

Refreshments

If you've spent a good few hours travelling then you'll probably be in need of some light refreshment to set you up for a busy day. There are shops, food/drink outlets and places to grab a coffee all over campus - the locations of these will be indicated on a map in the Open Day Guide that you will recieve on the day.
