Planning your day

There's so much going on around campus across our open days, so make sure you know what to expect.

Before you arrive

Before you attend the open day, there are a few things which you can do to make your trip run as smoothly as possible.

Check the entry requirements

We would hate for you to come all the way to visit us, only to find out you aren't studying the compulsory subjects, have the necessary predicted grades or achieved the required GCSEs, so make sure you double check you meet the entry requirements before registering for or attending one of our open days.

Book your place

If you aren't already, get yourself and your guests booked onto an open day - you can do that here. We'll send you a QR code by email - screenshot it and bring it with you for registration on the day.

Organise how you intend to get here

Take the stress out of travelling to Loughborough and plan how you intend to get here. Further information can be found on our travel information page.

Let us know your special requirements

If you or a member of your party has a disability, please contact us. We can provide VIP car parking and ensure that any special requirements are met. Whatever your needs, we’ll try and help you. Get in touch with our team on opendays@lboro.ac.uk

Travelling a long way?

You might want to consider staying overnight in one of our hotels. Book a room at Burleigh Court or the Link Hotel (they offer special open day discounts) and make the most of your trip to campus.

Who’s coming with you?

Ask someone to come with you. A parent/guardian is perfect - they'll no doubt have lots of questions of their own!

Weather forecast

Take a look at the weather forecast – you might need sunglasses and suncream or an umbrella and a raincoat. Hopefully it’s not the latter!

Wear comfortable shoes

There will be lots of walking and standing, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. We don’t want anyone leaving with a blister!

On the day

There is so much to do once you’re here it can be easy to get distracted, to help you get the most out of your time with us, here’s a short checklist to make sure you stay on track.

Parking

Parking is available, free of charge, on campus at the Open Days. When you arrive in Loughborough, please make your way to the West Entrance (LE11 3GR) where you will be greeted by our Security and Parking Team who will direct you to suitable parking.

Register

Once you arrive on campus, you will be able to register at a number of different locations across campus. You can find registration points at;

You can also register at any one of the purple gazebos which are dotted around campus.

Share your experience

Follow us on on our social media channels and get stuck in to our open day online. Share your experience using #LboroOpenDay or tag us in your story for a chance to feature in our open day stories. You can also search Loughborough to use our unique open day stickers and gifs.

We’d love to hear from you.

Subject talks

Attend a departmental talk to find out more about your subject of interest. This is a great opportunity to check out the facilities within the department and ask those questions you’ve been burning to ask.

Speak to current students

Speak with current students and take this opportunity to ask them lots of questions. This is the best way to find out what it’s like to live and study here. We’ll have lots of student helpers who’ll be easy to spot, so don’t be afraid to stop and have a chat with them.

Get contact details

When you leave you’re bound to have questions, so make sure you take the contact details of the people you spoke to within your department. This will allow you to get in touch with them following the open day.
