Inspiring Minds: Frequently Asked Questions
Our Inspiring Minds taster days are an excellent opportunity for Year 12 students to learn more about the options available to them at university. The events aim to enhance current studies and get students thinking about their subjects from a new perspective through a range of undergraduate level taster sessions delivered by our academic staff and students.
These events are different to Open Days because of their subject-specific focus and what our visiting students are given access to, such as example lectures and workshops from relevant academic staff across the university.
The sessions at these events are mainly undergraduate level taster sessions delivered by academic staff. These aim to enhance current studies and get students thinking about the subject area from a new perspective.
Therefore, the sessions will revolve around topical tasters related to our degree courses, rather than focusing on the specific course content. Items will be provided to take away with course information.
Our Inspiring Minds events are primarily aimed at Year 12 students, so they can understand what it may be like to study their chosen subject area before applying to university in Year 13.
However, other year groups may also be able to attend certain events. For example, Year 13 students may wish to attend events taking place earlier in the academic year, or if they are considering a gap year before university. Year 11 students may also be able to attend summer events towards the end of the academic year.
If you would like to confirm whether you can attend one of our events, please refer to the relevant event webpage or email email@example.com
