What is Inspiring Minds?
If you are in Year 12, Inspiring Minds is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the options available at university.
These events allow you to experience studying your chosen subject area at undergraduate level, as well as to meet our current students and find out all about life at university.
Inspiring Minds events are free of charge (excluding the cost of travel to get yourself to campus).
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Inspiring Minds: Art & Design
Friday 14th June 2019
This event is for those students interested in studying an art or design related subject at university.
Students will be able to attend their choice of talks and workshops, receive university application guidance and take a tour of our outstanding campus. There will also be the opportunity to visit our annual degree shows, showcasing the inspiring and diverse array of work produced by our final year students.
Please see below for the event timetable which outlines the session choices available.
Students wishing to view the degree show events will see both the arts and design degree shows, but are asked to select which show they would like to see first and foremost when completing their booking.
Students interested in Fine Art, Graphic Communication and Illustration or Textiles: Innovation and Design should select "Degree Show Tours (Arts Focus)" when booking.
Students interested in Design Ergonomics, Ergonomics (Human Factors) or Industrial/Product Design and Technology should select "Degree Show Tours (Design Focus)" when booking.

If you are in Year 12, Inspiring Minds is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the options available at university. These events allow you to not only experience studying your chosen subject at undergraduate level, but also to meet our current students and find out all you need to know about life at university!
These events are different to Open Days because of their subject-specific focus and what our visiting students are given access to, such as example lectures and workshops from relevant academic staff across the university.
Inspiring Minds events are completely FREE to attend, including lunch and refreshments.
However, this excludes the cost of travel for visitors to reach the campus. Unfortunately, we cannot cover this cost.
Schools and colleges are welcome to bring groups of students to attend our Inspiring Minds events.

You do not need to bring a parent or guardian with you to attend the Inspiring Minds events, however they are welcome to attend if you would like.
Please let us know how many additional visitors will be joining you when completing your booking.
Parents / teachers are welcome to accompany their children / students to our Inspiring Minds events and can do whatever they wish on the day. They can either:
- Attend the sessions with their children / students (dependant on room capacities)
- Stay outside of the sessions in the open exhibition space (refreshments will be provided, as well as guest Wi-Fi access on request)
- Take a wander across campus or into Loughborough town
Yes, we will be providing a buffet lunch for visitors on the day of the event. Alternative options are also available to purchase in the nearby retail outlets on campus.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements in the relevant field when completing your booking.
After completing the online booking form for an Inspiring Minds event, you should receive a confirmation email.
