Inspiring Minds: Architecture

What is Inspiring Minds?

Our Inspiring Minds taster days are an excellent opportunity for Year 12 students to learn more about the options available to them at university. The events aim to enhance current studies and get students thinking about their subjects from a new perspective through a range of undergraduate level taster sessions delivered by our academic staff and students.

Students can also learn more about university applications and student life through informative sessions covering topics such as Personal Statements and Student Finance, as well as the opportunity to take a tour of our stunning single-site campus with our current students.

What is more, these events look great on a student's personal statement, helping them to stand out as part of the university application process.

The events are free of charge (excluding the cost of travel to Loughborough campus) and lunch is provided for students.

Inspiring Minds: Architecture

Wednesday 9th October 2019 | Loughborough Campus

This event provided a great opportunity for students in Years 12 and 13 to find out more about studying architecture at Loughborough University.

The day included an overview of the department and course, helpful sessions on researching higher education and writing personal statements, as well as a tour of the school's facilities. Furthermore, students took part in a practical design activity inspired by the Serpentine Gallery in London, with the opportunity to take a tour of our outstanding single-site campus with our current students.

Some of the feedback we received includes:

"The day has given me a better understanding of architecture. I have had the opportunity to explore my interests and see if architecture is the course for me"

"I am certain I would like to pursue architecture and enjoyed seeing Loughborough's impressive facilities"

"It was really useful, interesting, informative and fun. I learnt a lot"

Please see below the event timetable, which indicates the sessions typically offered at this event.
