Inspiring Minds: Online

Our Inspiring Minds: Online programme of virtual talks are the perfect opportunity for students to gain advice and guidance on applying to university.

Our informative sessions will include talks and Q&A panels with university staff experts, current students and recent graduates, who can all provide advice, support and inspiration to students considering higher education.

Our goal is to provide the information students need to make an informed, confident decision about university, and an opportunity to ask questions to help make the right choice for them. 

How to succeed when moving away from home: Tuesday 21st June, 6-7pm

Hear the experiences of our panel of current students, all of whom moved away from home to study at Loughborough. They will share their advice on everything from meeting new friends, what to pack for halls of residence, and how they learnt to cook more than baked beans on toast!  

UCAS applications and perfecting your personal statement: Tuesday 28th June, 1-2pm

Your opportunity to gain advice on how to complete your UCAS application and make your personal statement stand out! Our experts will share top tips on how to showcase your experience and passion and will answer your questions throughout the session.  

Picking a placement year - My year in industry: Monday 4th July, 6-7pm

Hear from our current students about their experiences of choosing a placement year, going through the application process, the roles they undertook and the things they learnt. 

Sport at Loughborough: Tuesday 26th July, 6-6.45pm

Are you passionate about taking part in sport whilst studying at university? As Sports University of the Year*, we have lots for students to get involved in: from our performance sport offer, to social sport opportunities, to world-class gym facilities. Join us to find out more and to ask questions to our experts.

Preparing for Results Day: Thursday 11th August, 6-7pm

Join us to gain advice and practical tips to help you head into A-level Results Day feeling calm and confident. 

The virtual talks will take place live on Microsoft Teams in UK time (GMT).
