Loughborough University is hosting a Creative Community Day on Saturday 27th October 2018.
The event aims to inspire people of all ages; from local artists and writers to those who would like to experience different sides to creativity.
Taking place at Martin Hall from 1pm-5pm, the event will see a host of fun, informal and creative activities linked to subject areas such as art, design, English and textiles. These include arts and crafts, clay making and book swaps. A number of the activities are being supported and run by local partners as well as members of Loughborough Students’ Union.
LU Arts will host a workshop led by artist Sumiko Eadon to showcase the art of printmaking.
The full programme of events will be available soon.
Anna Milewska of Loughborough University’s School and College Liaison team and the organiser of the event commented: “The Creative Community Day is a fantastic event that helps to not only develop different skills but also it aims to engage our community in a way that showcases some of the things you could do at Loughborough. Thanks to the collaborations with not only Loughborough Students’ Union but also some of our local artists and academics this event is not one to be missed!”
The event is free for everyone to attend, but it is recommended that guests register in advance in order to gain quicker entry on the day and to reserve spaces on those workshops with limited capacity.
Those interested in bringing a school group are asked to contact the School and College Liaison team via email: email@example.com.
