I chose to study at Loughborough University because the Water Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) has a well-known global reputation for offering water and sanitation programmes. There was no better place to pursue a master's degree in Water Engineering for Development.

Transitioning to a new country was smooth from the beginning. The Heathrow airport pick-up service offered by the University was incredibly helpful and immediately made me feel cared for. I was also able to get in touch with other students from my home country, which made the transition even easier.

My research dissertation focused on multi-sectoral partnerships for rural water supply in Uganda. If you are passionate about the WASH sector, this master's degree at Loughborough is one of your best options, because it is well balanced and multi-disciplinary, touching on all dimensions of WASH.

Loughborough has exposed me to different possibilities for my career. I have seen students innovating and designing interesting products as part of the degree, for example, a jet pack. It has been a truly inspiring experience for me.

A mix of experienced in-house and guest lecturers using different teaching styles enriched my learning experience. I want to be a Water and Sanitation Specialist, and my master’s degree from Loughborough is going to open up more opportunities for me, especially on an international level. I can now confidently apply for jobs that require a master’s degree in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector.
