- Sport Business and Innovation MSc
I have worked on the delivery of the BSU Summer School. It has been great to undertake two leadership modules as part of my course.
Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University London?
Studying MSc Sport Business and Innovation gave me the opportunity to visit high performing sport organisations which is quite unique and only possible with a University like Loughborough. I’ve never experienced visited sports organisations on this scale before and it’s been a great opportunity. The academics and the support staff I have come into contact with have all been really supportive and are keen to help too.
What have you gained from the programme?
Whilst studying MSc Sport Business and Innovation at Loughborough University London, I have become a programme rep for Sport Business as well as a student ambassador. As part of my role as student ambassador, I worked on the delivery of a Summer School for students from Beijing Sport University, which was a really fun and rewarding experience.
What modules have you enjoyed the most?
I really enjoyed the two leadership optional modules: "Analysing the Construction of Leadership for a Sport Context" and "Leadership Models and Practices: Applications to a Sport Context". It was great to learn about the social and political aspects of leadership, and how power can be categorised into different types.
What are your plans for the the future?
I will be undertaking a PhD with the Institute for Sport Business, and will be focusing on Implicit Leadership theories with Professor James Skinner as my supervisor. I also hope to take part in some teaching as part of my PhD training at Loughborough University London, as I am eager to pursue an academic career.
