Our research stretches across a broad spectrum of expertise spanning Design, Creative Arts and Human Factors, including: graphic design, fashion, textiles, painting, drawing, fine art, theatre, user experience design, visual arts, storytelling, human centred design, ergonomics, human factors, responsible design, design practice, design for future living, digital design, transport safety, complex systems, and more. It is characterised by transdisciplinary and collaborative working within the School, across the wider University, and alongside industry specialists.

We offer state-of-the-art design and creative arts facilities, including a £21M purpose-built design building (featuring specialist workshops, software and laboratories), a fully equipped ergonomics laboratory, plus six Creative Hubs which form the heart of creativity and production at Loughborough.
