Building an inclusive community


Information for under-represented groups and how we can support them if they choose to study at Loughborough.

It is this inclusive ethos which has led to our community of staff and students frequently being recognised in national awards such as the Times Higher Education Experience Survey (2016), the WhatUni Student’s Union of the Year (2015 and 2016) and being shortlisted for the THE University of the Year Award. We are proud of our friendly and welcoming campus environment, affectionately known as Loughborough Family or #Lborofamily

Our Access and Participation Plan 2019-20 details the measures that we will undertake to maintain and improve both access to our undergraduate courses and the subsequent progression of our students from under represented and disadvantaged groups. As part of our commitment to this, our Admission’s team use a range of contextual data and measures to identify applicants to the University with the greatest potential to succeed with their studies and to ensure that no groups are disadvantaged during the application process.

We recognise that some students will have overcome additional obstacles/barriers in their pursuit of Higher Education. Where required, our own teams will work closely with national organisations allowing us to support students all through their studies with us and beyond.
