Home to many of the country’s top governing bodies and national sports organisations, SportPark Loughborough University is a £15M development that has become a vital national sports hub, fostering co-operation, collaboration and creativity across a broad range of national Sports partners.

Based in purpose-built accommodation on the University's Science and Enterprise Park, sports bodies are able to access expertise and knowledge from across the Loughborough campus including the University’s Business School, Sports Development Centre, School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and SportPark's close neighbours the Sports Technology Institute.

SportPark has been developed by Loughborough University and part-funded by local government, Sport England, Charnwood Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council to support sports organisations as they strive to raise their game in achieving excellence in all that they do.

Promoting a healthy workforce

Employee well-being is a key component of the SportPark offer with Staff able to access the Holywell fitness centre and the Universities impressive range of sports facilities, fitness classes and healthy living expertise at special University staff rates.  See all the details here.

Physical activity is integral to SportPark’s design and developers have worked with experts in the University’s Sports Technology Institute and Sports Development Centre to incorporate hi tech gadgetry and innovative health and fitness equipment into its parkland surroundings. Dedicated spaces include an activity lawn, an energy track with innovative bespoke training stations and pitch markings on one of the car parks to encourage out of hours team sports.

A separate men’s and women’s changing block and integrated unisex changing facilities encourage staff to take part in physical activity before and after work and during lunch breaks.

SportPark has a number of thriving activities including pilates and running clubs for all abilities at lunchtime, a cycle loan scheme will allow workers to take a break from their desk and enjoy trips into the local countryside. A sport and social scene led by the tenants themselves leads to regular competitions and leagues in a variety of sports and a number of social events and activities.
