We are Open! Things will be a little different, but we believe we can offer the perfect environment for you to #SwimSafe.

**PLEASE NOTE** It is compulsory to wear a face mask in the communal areas of our facilities.

In the early stages of re-opening the swimming pool for public we are going to only offering lane swimming and restricting the numbers to a maximum of 24 per session.

 All session must be pre-booked either using the Loughborough Sport App or over the telephone. 

Arrival:

  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your booked session.
  • Arrive at the pool “beach ready” as you will only be able to access the changing rooms after your session. Showers will not be available at this time; please leave as quickly as possible after your session. 

Swimming:

Lanes will be divided to Slow, Medium, and Fast. Please ensure you book the lane most appropriate for your abilities. 

Slow

Predominantly Breaststroke taking 45+ seconds per length

Medium

Swimming a variety of strokes taking 30-45 seconds per length

Fast

Swimming Front crawl averaging under 30 seconds per length

  • Lane direction and speed will be indicated on the lane signs at the end of each lane.
  • Lane Flow - You may be asked by the Lifeguard to change lane when swimming, this is to assist in the flow of swimmers to ensure everyone enjoys their swim. 
  • Social distancing - Follow social distancing rules whilst swimming, on pool side and around the centre. Face covering to be on entry to the facility and once changed after your swim. 
  • Overtaking - To allow someone to overtake you, stop at the end of a lane and face away from them whilst they pass.
  • Resting - To rest ensure you always move to one side of the lane maintaining social distancing. For long periods of rest please climb out of the pool.      

If you need any help or have a question, please ask the Lifeguard.

Anyone not adhering to social distancing guidance may be asked to leave the premises.

WHAT ARE THE SWIMMING POOL OPENING HOURS?

We are currently offering a reduced number of sessions;

Please check the timetable https://www.lboro.ac.uk/sport/timetables/swimming-pool/ or the Swimming sessions tiles on the Lboro Sport app for information on accessible sessions.

ARE YOU RESTRICTING NUMBERS IN THE SWIMMING POOL?

In the early stages of re-opening the swimming pool for public we are going to only offering lane swimming and restricting the numbers to a maximum of 24 per session.

Only 3 people can be in one lane at any time and please ensure that you are booked onto the correct lane speed.

WILL I NEED TO BOOK TO GET INTO THE SWIMMING POOL?

All session must be pre-booked either using the Loughborough Sport App or over the telephone.

Bookings can only be made one day in advance.

CAN I ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT BOOKING?

Without a valid booking you won't be able to access through the turnstiles to reception and Swimming Pool, even if you have a valid membership with us.

HOW DO I GET INTO THE SWIMMING POOL?

The Swimming pool will be accessible as normal via the turnstiles. You will only be granted access to the Swimming Pool if you have booked your slot on the app. 

WILL I HAVE TO QUEUE?

We expect queues to be very unlikely but have put safety measures in place if you do need to wait a little before getting in.

ARE THE CHANGING FACILITIES AND LOCKERS AVAILABLE?

CAN CHILDREN SWIM DURING PUBLIC SWIM TIMES?

Children 12yrs and above are welcome to book a lane swim but must be a competent swimmer and be able to swim continuous lengths.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?

Yes, only those that are exempt from wearing a mask as per government guidelines do not need to wear a mask whilst in our facilities.
