Why did you come to Loughborough?

Loughborough gave me the unique opportunity to enter a high quality rugby programme whilst studying at the best Sports Science school in the world. The rugby programme had a great reputation as a professional and high performing environment, which stood out to me from other universities.

How did coming to Loughborough prepare you for future life (career or rugby)?

Playing National League rugby is something only Loughborough can offer, which has definitely opened up my options to semi-professional rugby and professional rugby whilst on my placement year and following graduation. The Club are also big on their values and behaviours (which are set and agreed by everyone) and encourages you to not only leave the environment as a better player, but as a better person too.

What advice would you give to a player thinking of coming to Loughborough?

In terms of rugby, I have no doubt Loughborough offers you one of, if not the best rugby programme away from professional clubs. The quality and variety of support is top class, from the rugby coaches to lifestyle and performance advice and everything in between. The culture of the club allows you to enjoy your time at university whilst ensuring you remain focussed on your degree.

Being a Loughborough student in the rugby club will allow you to develop as a rugby player, academically and as a person, whilst providing multiple opportunities for you along the way. It’s really up to you to find them and make the most of them. My advice would be to get involved in as much as you can, don’t be afraid to ask questions and enjoy it while it lasts!
