Dr Holly Collison, from the Institute of Sport Business and Dr Ksenija Kuzmina, from the Institute of Design Innovation, presented their project ‘This Woman Does!’ at the Women in Sport and Exercise Conference 2019.

Academics from Loughborough University London have been sharing the initial findings from their latest research project at the annual Women in Sport and Exercise Conference.

Dr Holly Collison, from the Institute of Sport Business and Dr Ksenija Kuzmina, from the Institute of Design Innovation, presented their project ‘This Woman Does!’, which explores working women's relationship with physical activity and exercise.

Held at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, the conference brought together leading thinkers and practitioners from a range of disciplines to promote discussion and debate around the issues that females face in sport and exercise at all levels.

Dr Collison explained further:

“The event in Twickenham was the first opportunity for Ksenija and I to share and discuss our research findings with experts and academics who focus on women in multiple contexts in relation to health, physical activity and exercise. We were very encouraged by the interest in our research and the conversations and positive dialogue surrounding our mixed methods and interdisciplinary approach to contextualising the everyday realities, opportunities and challenges working women experience”.

‘This Woman Does’ is part of the Loughborough University London (LUL) joint fund initiative and is partly funded by Sport England. The full findings of the project are expected to be released in autumn 2019.
