Thanks to a recent partnership with Derby County FC, Loughborough University students, staff and members of the public will be able to see the next generation of footballing talent in action on campus over the coming months.

With Derby’s U23 side set to play no fewer than 12 fixtures at the Loughborough University Stadium over the next six months, fans can see the future stars of English and European football in action, with tickets starting at just £1.

The first of those big games will see Derby take on PSV Eindhoven at 7pm on Wednesday 31 October, which under the floodlights should be quite a spectacle. In November the stadium will host Aston Villa on Thursday 8 before a Monday night clash against Arsenal on the 26th of the month.

The festive period sees a stunning double header, with Manchester City U23s coming to campus on Friday 7 December before Manchester United make the trip south on Thursday 20 December, just days before Christmas.

Further fixtures are still to be announced, but Liverpool will be in action against the Rams on campus on Monday 11 March.

Of the prospect of such quality outfits doing battle at the Loughborough University Stadium, Director of Football Richard Allen commented:

“I’m delighted that we’re able to offer a number of high quality matches on campus over the coming months. Our partnership with Derby will benefit us in a number of ways, but seeing them take on the likes of Manchester United, Man City and Liverpool, as well as European sides such as PSV Eindhoven, is a great prospect and one that everyone involved in football at Loughborough is relishing.”

The partnership between the University and the football club will see Derby County offer a number of internships to Loughborough University students, whilst Loughborough’s first team squad will take part in joint training sessions with Derby U23s, a fantastic development opportunity for both players and coaches.

Tickets are sold on the gate and are priced at just £1 for students & concessions, and £3 for adults. Food & drink are available, making it a perfect evening activity.
