Loughborough Lightning overcome Valkyries to remain unbeaten in the Tyrrells Premier 15s

Lightning secure their 8th victory on the trot, to stay unbeaten in the Tyrrells Premier 15s. The final score came to 64-12, and the result reflected the performance from the home side.

The tempo of the game was set straight away by Lightning, with Menin scoring in the 7th minute of the game. Two more from Lowish and Bartlett put Lightning in a very comfortable position early on. Not to be outdone from Lightning’s fast start, the Valkyries responded well with a nicely worked try through Jada Bailey on the wing.

Back on the attacking foot and gaining good momentum Lightning struck a further three times through the forward pack extending their lead to at half time 38-7.

After a well worked move, the Worcester backs crossed the whitewash to score their second of the game. Hot on their heels in response Lightning’s Jones danced through the defence to dot down, with Phillip adding two more.

It was not long until lighting struck again with Cath O’Donnell breaking the line to create space out wide for Zeidler to score. With only minutes left on the clock Lightning strike twice more through Davey and Bartlett, closing out the game 64-12.

Lightning now have a two week break in the season but will travel to Saracens on the 24th November.
