Loughborough Rugby scores Computacenter partnership

Computacenter

Loughborough Students Rugby Football Club (LSRFC) can today (1 December) unveil Computacenter as an official sponsor, the IT provider coming on board to support the biggest student rugby club in the country.

Computacenter is a leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services, enabling users and their businesses in a digital world. Like Loughborough University, Computacenter have a ‘winning together’ mantra and share a number of similar values.

Computacenter’s partnership will see them benefit from Loughborough’s world leading performance management experts, as they look to further instil a performance mindset throughout their organisation. Alongside using Loughborough University as a base for their annual Associate Sales training, they hope to learn from the way LSRFC quickly creates strong, cohesive teams despite ever changing personnel, which is the nature of University rugby.

The partnership will see Computacenter’s logo appear on both the men’s National One and BUCS Super Rugby kits, as well as on Loughborough Lightning’s shirts, with the women’s side currently just one point off the top of the Tyrell’s Premier 15’s competition, the highest level of domestic rugby in the UK.

Of this latest partnership, Loughborough’s Sports Facilities and Commercial Director, Jo Simpson, said:

“We are delighted to be working with another industry leading organisation here at Loughborough.  Computacenter’s ethos of ‘winning together’ echoes our value set and symbolises our partnership approach to maximise value for our sponsors, our students and our sports teams.  We’re really excited to be working together and look forward to a strong future.”

John Beard, Director of Major Accounts at Computacenter, who is also a Loughborough alumnus, added:

“We are excited to announce our partnership with Loughborough by sponsoring the Students Rugby Football Club. In addition to the core sponsorship, we are keen to explore the potential of a broader partnership, and are looking forward to having greater access to Loughborough coaches and facilities, to build on this initial announcement to our mutual benefit.”
