The game started positively with Ben last beating 2 men inside the area to the square it to Chris Eneremadu who rolled the ball into the net on 10 minutes.

The scholars looked to build and dominate the half but failed to create further clear cut opportunities.
Despite a strong half the scholars let the lead slip when a deflected cross fell to the free striker at the back post to slot home on 41 minutes.

HT 1–1

With both teams hoping to come out strongly in the second half the Scholars took the lead on 47 minutes through a spectacular 25 yard lob over the Long Eaton keeper by Captain Matty Crookes.

The next goal on 60 minutes saw Long Eaton equalise, when a soft free kick was given against the scholars. The ball into the box wasn’t cleared properly and a deflected shot fell to the striker who tapped home.

With 20 minutes to go the Scholars were given the advantage when Long Eaton were reduced to 10 men for a second yellow card.

With the home side down to 10, it only took the Scholars 5 minutes to capitalise with Ben Last combining with Matty Crookes on the edge of the area to then round the keeper and tap the ball into the empty net.

The next 12 minutes saw the Scholars manage the game well, ticking the clock down whilst also creating chances, with the game finishing 3-2 to the University they record their second away win on the bounce.
