Liz Monk. Operations Manager

Liz joined Loughborough Sport as Operations Manager in April 2016 leading the Business Support Team and taking responsibility for finances, HR, liaison with key university committees and providing leadership for the planning and reporting operations of SDC.

Liz is an experienced Operations Manager working within an Academic Schools, Professional Services and Project environments. She has managed professional, administration and technical teams working across a variety of research, enterprise, teaching and sporting activities, marketing, IT, finances and HR.

Coming from a background in teaching her early career roles were supporting learning and teaching developments in Higher Education. Liz has led both the Engineering Subject Centre and the Math Stats and OR Network for the Higher Education Academy, leading the Centres alongside managing and supporting national innovative learning and teaching projects, leading national workshops and providing local development for curriculum design from New Lecturers through to Accrediting Professional Institutions throughout the UK. She has coordinated several international conferences and peer reviews for the European Journal for Engineering Education.

Liz has a wealth of experience in change management and staff development in the higher education sector, most recently undertaking a secondment within Loughborough University Change Team leading the pilot of the new PDR system for academic schools, and supporting change projects in FM and Student Services.
