Welcome back

We are open! Things will be a little different, but we believe we can offer the perfect environment for you to #TrainSafe.

Wearing face coverings in our facilities

To ensure we minimise any risk to our sporting community we have adopted the following face covering protocols in all of our sports facilities.

It is expected that all sports facility users wear a face covering indoors at all times other than when taking part in high intensity activity; this includes keeping your face covered upon arrival, while chatting or getting ready, for low intensity activity (like stretching) and in between activities; the only exceptions are medical exemptions and activities in the water in the swimming pool.

Your safety and that of our staff is a top priority. In line with government guidance, we have made a number of changes to our gyms and other facilities to ensure they are a safe place for you to #TrainSafe.

#TrainSafe is our comprehensive approach to making our gyms a safe place to workout.  When you come back, you'll notice the gyms will look a little different, but you'll still get everything you need for a great workout.

We will provide regular updates before we open each facility, but here are some of the changes you can expect in the first instance at our gyms:

Individual training only

To keep all our members safe, only Individual training will be permitted. Couples and group training is strictly prohibited. Sharing of equipment is not allowed even if you are in the same household.

Book your gym session

To access the gym book your training session on the Lboro Sport App before arriving, this helps to manage the number of people within our facility. Please do not overstay the time of your allocated training slot. If you can't attend your session please cancel it a minimum of 4 hours in advance.

Extensive and frequent cleaning

Our gyms will be deep cleaned every night with high-grade anti-viral disinfectant. The team will also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence.

Self-cleaning stations

We've installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. Cleaning stations are located in all key areas of the gym to make it as easy as possible.

Hand sanitising stations

You'll find more hand sanitising stations around the gym so it's easy to regularly clean your hands during your visit. We ask that you also sanitise your hands before entering the gym to keep yourself and others safe.

Staff training and expertise

All staff will be fully trained on our new cleaning and safety measures to ensure these are delivered to the highest standard.

Powerbase

Weekdays: 6.30am – 11.00pm

Powerbase will be closed to non-elite members during the following times:

  • 9:00am – 12:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Weekends: 8am – 9.30pm

Holywell

Weekdays: 6.30am – 10.30pm

Weekends: 8am – 9pm

ARE YOU RESTRICTING NUMBERS IN THE GYM?

Yes. We will limit the number of people in the gym at the same time, so members can keep a safe distance from each other. You can check the app to see how many places are available and how many people are currently there. It's best to plan your visit at a quieter time or book before you arrive to avoid having to wait outside until there's an available slot.

WILL I NEED TO BOOK TO GET INTO THE GYM?

Yes. You will need to book your gym session via the Loughborough Sport app. Bookings can only be made up to 24 hours in advance.

Please do not overstay the time of your allocated training slot.  This is very important to ensure the safety of our gym members.  Action will be taken against repeat offenders.

Please cancel your gym or pool training session in the Lboro Sport App if you can’t attend.  A £3 fine will be added to your account for not attending a booked session.  If you can’t attend, you must cancel a minimum of 4 hours before the start time.  This does not apply to our virtual classes.

CAN I ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT BOOKING?

Although access won't be blocked into the building, we ask that you only enter if you've booked a slot to enter the gym and only enter when it's the correct time. This is to avoid gatherings at the reception area as without a valid booking you won't be able to access through the turnstiles to the gym and studio area, even if you have a valid membership with us.

HOW LONG CAN I STAY IN THE GYM?

We ask that members stay a maximum of 1 hour in order to help manage the number of members in the gym to keep you safe but also provide the opportunity for all members to train every day.

HOW DO I GET INTO THE GYM?

The Gym will be accessible as normal via the turnstiles. You will only be granted access to the gym if you have booked your slot on the app.

We expect queues to be very unlikely but have put safety measures in place if you do need to wait a little before getting in.

WILL I HAVE TO QUEUE?

We expect queues to be very unlikely but have put safety measures in place if you do need to wait a little before getting in. You can reduce the chance of queuing by planning your visit at a quieter time or booking before you arrive.

ARE THE CHANGING FACILITIES AND LOCKERS AVAILABLE?

Changing facilities will not be available, however storage will be provided on the ground floor. With this in mind please arrive ready to train, limit the amount you bring with you to the gym and do not bring valuables.

ARE CLASSES STILL RUNNING?

Exercise classes will continue EXCLUSIVELY online for our members, now fully integrated into the Lboro Sport app.

HOW WILL YOU KEEP THE GYM CLEAN?

Both our gyms will be deep cleaned overnight and regularly through the day, using high-grade disinfectants.

SHOULD I WEAR A MASK TO THE GYM?

To ensure we minimise any risk to our sporting community we have adopted the following face covering protocols in all of our sports facilities.

It is expected that all sports facility users wear a face covering indoors at all times other than when taking part in high intensity activity; this includes keeping your face covered upon arrival, while chatting or getting ready, for low intensity activity (like stretching) and in between activities; the only exceptions are medical exemptions and activities in the water in the swimming pool.

SHOULD I WEAR GLOVES TO THE GYM?

No. Gloves should be reserved for those undertaking certain tasks and are worn in hospital environments, those caring for the sick, by cleaning staff etc. Gloves can harbour a high viral load and contaminate surfaces. The individual may also transfer from glove to face in a higher dose and not touching the face and washing hands thoroughly is far more important.
