Briefing Sessions

We're hosting a series briefing sessions on each of our strands for you to find out about the variety of oppprtunties to develop you personally and professionally through sport whilst at Loughborough University. We're hosting both in-person and online briefings, and all the details, inculding how to register can be found below!

Coaching Briefing (Online) - 18:00pm

The CVA will be holding an online briefing session on the strand coaching in the Loughborough programmes. If you are interested in coaching and want to know more, please come along to this online session to get more information and ask any questions you may have!

The briefing session will be held online via Microsoft Teams at 18:00 on the 30th of September and will last no more than an hour.

Monday 4th October

Officiating Briefing (Online) - 18:00pm

The CVA will be holding an online briefing session on officiating in the Loughborough officiating programmes. If you are interested in officiating and want to know more, please come along to this session to get more information and ask any questions you may have.

The briefing session will be held online via Microsoft Teams at 18:00 on the 4th of October and will last no more than 45 minutes.

Events Management Briefing - 18:00pm

The CVA will be holding a briefing session on our Events Management strand. If you are interested in sports events and events management and want to know about all our opportunities and how you can get involved, please come along to this session to get more information and ask any questions you may have.

The session will be as short as possible and informal.

The briefing session will be held in the Dan Maskell Tennis Centre, Seminar room 2 on Monday 4th October at 18:00pm.

Media, Marketing & Communications Briefing - 19:00pm

The CVA will be holding a briefing session on the media, marketing & communications strand. If you are interested in media, marketing and communications and want to know about all our opportunities and how you can get involved, please come along to this session to get more information and ask any questions you may have.

This short, informal session will be held in the Dan Maskell Tennis Centre, Seminar room 2 on Monday 4th October at 19:00pm

Tuesday 5th October

Tennis Coaching and Officiating Briefing - 19:00pm

The tennis programme will be hosting an in person briefing session on the coaching and officiating opportunities within the tennis programme here at Loughborough. If you are interested in getting involved with coaching or officiating within tennis please come along to this session from 7-7:30pm at the Dan Maskell Tennis centre seminar room to find out more information.

Please note when you sign up you may be asked to pay a deposit but this is a FREE briefing session so you will not have to pay anything!

Volunteer Zambia Sport 2022 Briefing Session 1 - 18:00pm

Come and find out all about Volunteer Zambia Sport 2022 ......

Volunteer Zambia’s focus is to invest in building capacity within sport development. This will include supporting the development of more effective talent pathways in key sports, initially volleyball and netball and in developing the skills of young Zambians especially in coaching and coach education, officiating, leadership and wider sports volunteering.  Volunteer Zambia will do this by encouraging the sharing of expertise, knowledge and experience between UK staff and students and their Zambian counterparts. The emphasis will be on building the capacity in country to create sustainable opportunities for people to play and progress in sport.

There are 4 roles available for VZ 2022:

  • Women's Football Development Officer
  • Netball Development Officer
  • Basketball Development Oficer

Being part of Volunteer Zambia is a big commitment. It’s hard work, time consuming and requires a full 12 month commitment. This includes:

  • Fundraising both an individual (£1500) & group target (£5250) – £15,000 in total
  • Meeting weekly with the LU staff lead and other Volunteer Zambia students
  • Gaining as much additional experience / knowledge as possible in your specialist area prior to going to Zambia
  • Attending both the LU induction and the wider Volunteer Zambia induction in Lboro in Feb 2022
  • Being in Zambia for 6 weeks (between June & Oct 2017)
  • Helping, supporting & mentoring the following year’s Volunteer Zambia students

Wednesday 6th October

Performance Support Briefing - 14:00pm-15.15pm

The CVA will be holding a briefing session on the Performance Support strand. You'll hear from a variety of Loughborough Sport's practitioners who'll introduce what they do and give an overview of the opportunities available to get involved. There will also be time for a Q&A for you to ask any questions to our practitioners.

This briefing will be held in Brockington Extention, Room U.0.20 on Wednesday 6th October 14:00pm-15.15pm
