Tracy Bhamra is Professor of Sustainable Design, a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Tracy has a BSc in Manufacturing, an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management and a PhD in Design for Disassembly and Recycling. Following her PhD Tracy worked at Manchester Business School as a Researcher and then Cranfield University as a Lecturer.
She joined Loughborough University in 2003 as a Senior Lecturer. Before being appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise) Tracy was the Dean of Loughborough Design School.
Tracy’s research focuses on Methods and Tools for Sustainable Design, Sustainable Product Service System Design and Design for Sustainable Behaviour.
As Pro Vice Chancellor (Enterprise), Tracy holds the strategic responsibility for Loughborough’s academic engagements with business, public and voluntary organisations to create social, cultural and economic impacts through knowledge exchange.
This includes student and graduate entrepreneurship, IP exploitation and spin-out, a range of bespoke programmes to facilitate engagement with regional businesses of all sizes, and development of the University’s Science and Enterprise Park within which Loughborough Innovation Centre is based.
