Dealing with issues

My manager doesn’t support my Dynamic Working preferences. What can I do?

It’s important that agreement is reached on Dynamic Working arrangements so that the needs of the service and your needs are carefully balanced. If you can, you should continue discussions with your manager to see whether any compromises can be made to reach an arrangement you are both happy with. Ultimately though Dynamic Working may not be available for your role or to suit your operational area.

What can I do if I think my manager is being unreasonable in our discussions re Dynamic Working?

You can speak to your manager’s manager or your HR Partner to share your concerns. Alternatively, if you’re a member of the union you may wish to speak to them in the first instance.

My role does not facilitate Dynamic Working. Are there plans in place to review the barriers to Dynamic Working such that I may be able to engage with Dynamic Working in the future?

Some jobs will never be able to work dynamically because they need to be done on campus. The Dynamic Working arrangements will be kept under review, however, so that jobs that could work in a more dynamic way as technology or working practices develop can be included in these arrangements when it is practicable for them to do so.
