Learning support

Sources of help

Our staff are happy to help you use the Library resources and services whether you are on-campus or studying remotely.  Please don’t hesitate to ask.

Enquiries

The Library offers an information and enquiries service in the Library buildings. If you are working remotely, you can contact us by email (library@lboro.ac.uk or London-library@lboro.ac.uk) or by phone (01509 222360 - Loughborough campus, 020 38051348 - London campus). Occasionally enquiries will be referred to colleagues with more specialist knowledge such as an Academic Librarian.

Academic Librarians are available to assist all University staff and students, offering specialist advice on any information-related query including research skills, referencing, conducting a literature review and getting published. Academic Librarians can be contacted by e-mail or via MS Teams.

Individual appointments

In addition to dealing with enquiries, Academic Librarians offer individual appointments to support more in-depth or complex queries, such as how to start researching a particular topic, advice on referencing or using a specialist online search tool or database. Get in touch to arrange a meeting which can be held in person or via MS Teams.

On demand resources on Learn

The Library has developed a number of Learn modules containing resources which support you in developing your research skills in finding, evaluating, managing and referencing information. Academic Librarians have also collaborated with colleagues in the Academic Language Support service to create modules on study skills and dissertation and project success.
