Windows 10 Managed Service
IT Services are updating Windows 10 on the staff managed desktops. This will be rolled out automatically across the Staff Windows 10 Managed Desktop Service, from week commencing 22nd February.
The Windows 10 Service on staff managed laptops will be updated after this time. Staff will receive a separate communication in due course regarding the schedule for the update.
HOW WILL THE WORKS AFFECT ME?
The desktops will be updated automatically overnight and will be rebooted as part of this process.
If there is a reason that your desktop cannot be upgraded automatically at this time, then please contact the IT Service Desk.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY?
The new update ensures that the managed desktop service is secure and up to date, preventing the risk of security breaches.
The update will be rolled out from w/c Monday 22nd February. Updates are scheduled to be applied between 00:00 am – 06:00 am. The timescale of this rollout is approximately one month.
