Removal of persistent chat rooms in Cisco Jabber - from 10th May

Changes to Cisco Jabber
From Tuesday 10th May 2022, Cisco Jabber will no longer support persistent chat room function.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT ME?
IT Services will be disabling the persistent chat rooms function within Cisco Jabber. This change is to improve the use of Cisco Jabber to solely support telephony requirements. This change will affect all supported platforms: Windows, macOS, Android, iPhone/iPad.
We recommend the use of Microsoft Teams to support group chat activity. Guidance on creating teams can be found on the following link:
Please note that there is no possibility of archiving existing conversations from Cisco Jabber as the data is encrypted.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY?
To support migration from Cisco Jabber to Microsoft Teams which will allow for a greater user experience with added functionality.
The change will be applied on Tuesday, 10th May 2022.
