Planned network outage: Loughborough Design School - 7th April

Notice of wired and Wi-Fi outage

On Thursday 07 April there will be a full day outage on the eduroam Wi-Fi and wired network service in the Loughborough Design School.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?

This work will impact everyone requiring network access.

Services affected include:

We recommend working from an alternative location on that day.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

IT Services will be carrying out essential maintenance on the electrical supply as part of the PODS 2021 project.

This project is to upgrade parts of the Datacentre architecture commonly known as “Pods”. This architecture hosts 600 virtual machines that underpin key University systems such as iTrent, Agresso and LUSI alongside supporting teaching and learning activities.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO STUDENTS AND STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY?

Improved performance and enhanced security.

TIMESCALE?

The work is scheduled to take place from 07:00 am until approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday 07 April.
